We Work For Change

08.11.17 | 9:11PM |

Women’s Foundation is celebrating 25 years of working for change. Building on the strength of the brand we created and targeting a younger audience, Design Ranch helped kick off the celebration with a bright and bold new anniversary campaign. In addition to traditional print, social media and the hashtag #WeWorkForChange,  we utilized guerrilla marketing tactics to help spread the word. For more information about the foundation, the 25th Anniversary Celebration, where you can purchase tickets or how to become a sponsor, go to www.womens-foundation.org.

Make Art Work

04.27.17 | 7:27PM |

Artists = entrepreneurs. Artists Inc is empowering artists of all disciplines to make their passion their career by giving them the education, resources and network they need to fine tune their entrepreneurial skills. With a bold new brand, we inserted the artist smack dab in the middle of business. See more of the artistic professionalism we create for them here.

Opa! Mr. Gyros has a new brand and it’s better than baklava. We mixed fresh photography with fun language and topped it off with a Mr. mascot. Go with the floyeres and check on the new site here.

A-B-C is Easy as Prep-KC

04.10.17 | 8:10PM |

Lace up your sneakers and sharpen your pencils, it’s time to take notes on PREP-KC’s new look! Aimed at improving college and career preparation for Kansas City’s urban students, PREP-KC is getting its message across in an even bigger way with a new brand and website. We prepared them for success by telling their story through a new look, photography and language library. Check out the full story here prep-kc.org

Things are looking a bit different over at the Charlotte Street Foundation. To celebrate 20 years of artful impact on Kansas City, Design Ranch designed a brand to help cultivate the contemporary, exceptional and unexpected. The kinetic brand system and website gives viewers a window into the talented community of visual and performing artists. Go on. Get a view from bizarre at charlottestreet.org

The Power of Design

03.06.17 | 6:6PM |

It’s about time we tell our story in rhyme. Enjoy this short video about what went down last December at The Ranch!

It’s Lit at DR

02.15.17 | 10:15PM |

Well, the squirrel is outta the bag. Design Ranch narrowly escaped a fire in December when a chewed power line dropped mid-day and electrified our building. We are all happy to have made it out in one piece—although we can’t say the same for our furry friend. While the office undergoes some de-charring to return it to its original sparkly self, we have settled in (temporarily) with our friends at Helix Architecture. After some PTSD counseling (read: cocktails) we are back up and designing. So, in an ironic twist, if you need us in the next few months, we will be fireside at Helix. Stop by for a happy hour therapy session—we’d love to tell you the whole story. Write or visit Design Ranch @ Helix: 1629 Walnut Street, Kansas City, Missouri.

But First, Design

02.01.17 | 3:1PM |

We want to be the first to share our work that has been published in a new international book. Gestalten just released First Things First! — showcasing outstanding branding and design for new businesses from around the globe. The publishers put Finefolk on a whirlwind tour, featuring our naming and design work for the fashionable studio. We are proud to join this list of international firms making a difference in the world through design.

Graphis for the Gold!

11.28.16 | 10:28PM |

Graphis is an international mainstay in the design industry—committed to presenting and promoting the work of exceptional talent in Graphic Design, Advertising, Photography and Art/Illustration. We are honored to be included not once, but twice, in its most recent archive of the best in Annual design from 2014-2016. Our work for Hall Family Foundation won a gold status award—focusing on the educational organizations that are bettering the lives of children in Kansas City. We used captivating portrait and still life photography, paired with simple smart design to carry the “back to basics” school theme throughout the report. Design Ranch also won a silver award for our work with KCMO CDE and our out-of-the-box approach to annual report charting. We’re honored to share this stage with such talented people and look forward to sharing our work worldwide.
