Challenge
Futures First began as a renaming and rebranding initiative for The Family Conservancy, an organization with a deep history of supporting children and families in the Kansas City region. As the organization’s mission evolved to emphasize systemic change and equitable futures, it became clear that the existing identity no longer reflected the forward-thinking work being done. The challenge was to guide this transformation through a comprehensive naming and brand strategy process that honored decades of trusted service while introducing a renewed sense of energy, optimism, and purpose. Futures First needed to feel both established and visionary, creating space for new partnerships and a broader impact.
Approach
Design Ranch collaborated closely with the Futures First team to build an identity that captures the spirit of progress and empowerment at the heart of their mission. The new name embodies a belief in proactive investment in children, in families, and in the systems that support them. The visual identity system extends this optimism through a bright, human-centered color palette, approachable typography, and a logo that symbolizes growth and interconnectedness. We developed an extensive suite of materials including photography direction, print collateral, social media and presentation templates. Every touchpoint was designed to feel warm, confident, and community-driven, ensuring Futures First steps boldly into its next chapter with a brand as impactful as its mission.
