The Communications Network approached Design Ranch to craft the event branding for their 2024 ComNet conference in Kansas City. The goal was to create a visual identity that captured the cultural essence of the host city while remaining vibrant, inviting, and attention-grabbing. The branding needed to resonate with attendees while honoring the city’s rich history and unique characteristics.

Design Ranch developed a bold and dynamic event identity inspired by Kansas City’s distinctive culture. A vibrant four-color palette—drawing on hues from the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals—served as the foundation, accented with strong black outlines to create a cohesive and eye-catching visual style. Custom icons showcased local hallmarks, including the iconic shuttlecock, a saxophone nodding to Kansas City’s jazz heritage, a cow representing its barbecue scene, and a fountain celebrating the city’s nickname, “City of Fountains.” This cohesive system was applied across all event materials and signage, ensuring that every touchpoint highlighted Kansas City’s cultural significance while fostering a welcoming and energetic atmosphere for conference attendees.
