University of Arkansas Multicultural Center

The University of Arkansas partnered with Design Ranch to develop a comprehensive wayfinding and signage system for a busy, multi-use environment that often felt confusing and difficult to navigate. With a high volume of activity and many competing visual elements, the challenge was to create graphics that established a strong sense of place while guiding movement through the space in a clear and intuitive way. The system needed to support both identification and navigation, helping visitors orient themselves quickly while enhancing the overall experience and character of the environment.

Design Ranch approached the project by creating dynamic environmental graphics inspired by the concepts of weaving, connection, and cultural integration. Drawing from the diverse global influences represented within the space, the design system uses sound patterns, movement, and color to reflect the exchange of ideas and conversations encouraged throughout the environment. The wall graphics not only strengthened the identity of the space, but also created intuitive visual pathways that guided visitors while fostering a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
