challenge

The Women’s Foundation turned to Design Ranch to establish a strong brand identity for the Appointments Project, a program created to increase gender diversity on public boards and commissions. The brand needed to resonate with women interested in civic engagement and inspire elected officials to make appointments that reflect their communities.

approach

Design Ranch created a sleek, serif logomark accented with a bold pink point. We used two words, “A Point,” to echo the project name and reinforce the group’s purpose. The phrase was a foundation for conveying the critical significance of fostering women-led appointments. Line art illustrations were diverse without being literal and captured the confidence and determination of women working to create positive change. The new brand image and refined marketing materials got right to the point about the importance of women engaging in civic responsibility as board and commission members. This succinct and impactful approach clearly conveyed the importance of women’s engagement in shaping our shared civic responsibilities.
