Empowering inclusivity with a compelling brand
Funded by the Kellogg Foundation, The Diverse Books for All Coalition is a national consortium of more than 40 nonprofits and membership organizations working together to increase access to affordable, high-quality children’s books by and about diverse races, cultures, identities, and abilities to low-income families. When founding this new nonprofit, organizers came to Design Ranch to develop a compelling and inclusive brand identity that resonates with a wide audience and effectively communicates the organization’s mission of promoting diverse children’s literature.
Design Ranch crafted a comprehensive branding solution anchored by a logo that includes an iconic bookmark to visually represent the coalition’s commitment to promoting access to diverse reading. To build connections, Design Ranch created a group of imaginative book characters. Their simple, adaptable design is not defined by age, race, or stereotypes; instead, they represent the joy reading brings to all. Coupled with a dynamic, updatable website and compelling brand slogans like “Pull your shelf together,” “We’re the main characters, and “Let’s change the plot,” every element is strategically aligned, creating a cohesive brand identity that reinforces the organization’s mission and elevates its visibility among its target audiences.
