Duvel Belgian Ale
Harnessing a brand name translation to create a product launch with impact
Brewing company Duvel approached Design Ranch to work on the U.S. launch of its Belgian Golden Ale. The international brand was looking to reposition its product to appeal to the U.S. market. For the unveiling during Los Angeles Restaurant Week, Design Ranch created a brand campaign, messaging, and social media strategy that revolved around the Flemish translation of Duvel (Devil). “Drink Duvelishly” became the calling card the company used throughout a “Dine with the Duvel” campaign.
We created striking, contemporary graphics and promotional packaging to ensure the Duvel experience was elevated from opening the bottle to the perfect pour. The strategy targeted restauranteurs and bar owners and included digital display ads, social media posts, gifs, and event activations, all edgy, fun, and – most of all – memorable.
